Jessie Moreau is a Métis woman from Ontario, Canada.
The creation of Being (Mé)tis has been a passion project of hers, with the ambition of inspiring pride, community, and hope among young Indigenous boys and girls who feel dissociated from their cultural heritage.
About Being (Mé)tis, she says, "My own personal experiences with cultural reclamation inspired me to write this story. It is tragic to think that there are so many other people who may also feel lost or broken because of the consequential intergenerational effects of the injustices enacted upon Indigenous communities. I hope that any person who reads this story is ultimately encouraged to find that which makes them unique as a person and that which makes them whole."
